Our Story

Blue Ember Design is a small web design firm located in Dublin, California. We provide services to clients in a diverse range of industries who are located throughout the entire United States.  Although we are happy to work with anyone across the US, most of our clients are located in the San Francisco & East Bay Areas, including Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin, San Ramon, Danville, Walnut Creek, Concord, and Fremont.

We pride ourselves in providing top quality, full service solutions to our customers; all of whom are looking to make a significant impact on their public image and boost their online marketing efforts.

Our Process

We have a very thorough process when considering how to build a new web identity. Here’s what you can expect when working with us:

  1. Initial Meeting (phone or face-to-face) – We discuss your company and the vision for your project. In this stage we learn a lot from you about your industry, your goals for the website, and about the impact you would like to make with it.
  2. Wireframing – With the information you have provided us, we build rough sketches of what your website will look like. This allows us to quickly get some ideas on paper regarding the layout, structure, and design.
  3. Visual Design – This is the point where the wireframe is fleshed out into a full design with navigation, colors, and imagery. At this stage the result is only a concept and is submitted as a JPEG image for review.
  4. Page Coding (XHTML, CSS, JavaScript) – Now the visual design is sliced up and converted from a static image into a functional web page. This involves coding the site and executing consistency testing between various popular web browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome).
  5. Application Development – Now the “guts” of the site begin to come together. Blogs, shopping carts, and other custom web applications are developed and/or installed on your web host.
  6. Content – Your specific content is added to the pages of the website. All of your final drafts and images have been submitted to us so that we can complete your pages. If you have a blog or an online store, we will enter some information to get you started and then train you on how to enter your own information.
  7. Testing – The site is nearly complete and ready to be launched. We will look through the entire site and run any necessary tests to ensure that our final product to you is high quality, secure, and ready to be launched to the public.
  8. Site Launch – Your website is ready to go live. We push it out to the web for the world to see. Celebrate!
